About Me
I'm a local, growing up right here in good, old, Lehi Utah. I loved growing up in a small town and I love living in this state! Camping in, hiking around, and exploring the amazing region we live in is one of my favorite things to do.
A little about my family; I'm married and my husband, Fred and I have three awesome kids: Liam, who is 6 and in first grad, Jovi, who is our little 3 year old spit-fire, and our baby Lily, who turns 1 this Christmas.
I fell in love with history in the 8th grade. I had a teacher who was passionate about it and passed that passion on to me. My love for history continued to grow as I learned more and began to understand my link to the past. In studying history at BYU, I learned how to go beyond the stories, and to ask questions and learn from it. One of my hopes as a teacher is to help students find that element; to learn and appreciate how they can benefit from, and are connected to, history. Studying history helps students develop critical thinking, research, and writing skills. Beyond that, the study of history teaches us who we are. As we learn the motives of the men and women who have shaped our world, we come to recognize our own motives, and thereby become better citizens in our communities, our nation, and the world.
